For 27 years I’ve been a counsellor to folks who wanted help with eating disorders, addictions of all kinds, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, financial and career problems. I’ve helped people with many different struggles to those needing help with serious addictions. I have helped thousands of people make sense of life and find their happiness, their sense of purpose, and joy in life.
Trusting Yourself is Key
When you don’t trust yourself to keep your promises to yourself, or to have your own back out there in the world, the only way you can feel is stressed and insecure. It’s a given.
So, I’d bet that you’d have a lot less stress, and a lot fewer negative self-thoughts, if you could just figure out:
Why do you keep doing that thing? (Why, really, though…?)
And how can you really trust that you won’t do it again?
And it’s hard to relax in the world when things have happened in your past that hurt you and you don’t know why they happened or what to do to feel trust again.
You’d feel a lot less insecure out there in the world if you could just figure out:
What the heck happened with those people from your past!?
Why did things go down the way they did?
And how can you make sure it won’t happen again?
And I think you’d feel much less anxious and overwhelmed when you think about your future if you knew how to trust that you’re doing your best now.
